The new Rydges Gold Coast Airport Hotel is your pre-or post-flight oasis. In collaboration with Design Nu, we worked to create a welcoming, open-plan interior reflecting the Gold Coast’s relaxed, coastal lifestyle. While the aesthetics of a hotel are always of paramount importance, the brief for this project also required us to consider the added challenge of airport proximity and the effect of vibration on the ceiling’s structural components and fixtures.
To address this, we proposed custom Zintra Acoustic Baffles, which are lightweight and easy to install, for the ceilings throughout the hotel. This includes a grand ocean-inspired Zintra Wave Baffle in the lobby, while in the hotel’s Runway Restaurant and Bar features a custom Baffle digitally printed in timber which creates a calming, visual centrepiece that is reminiscent of a traditional timber ceiling and the nearby rolling waves.
This impressive project exceeded all expectations, demonstrating the versatility and strength of Zintra, but also our bespoke manufacturing capabilities.
